Spectra Finishes Another Fiscally Successful Year at

Ford Idaho Center and Nampa Civic Center

Dual Live Entertainment Venues Jointly Beat Budget by $1.27 Million

NAMPA, Idaho (March 8, 2022) – Spectra, the provider of venue management at Ford Idaho Center and Nampa Civic Center, has wrapped up another successful operating year, underscoring a combined positive budget variance of $217,243.

The Ford Idaho Center achieved its best financial result in the venue’s history. Spectra beat budget by $1.08 million. The operating revenue will be a profitable $488,143, versus a budgeted deficit of ($599,090). The budget was the most aggressive in the 24-year history of the venue and was accomplished during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Nampa Civic Center, having completed its fourth year under Spectra Venue Management, posted another successful financial year. The operating deficit was ($177,205), versus a budgeted deficit of ($369,460), resulting in a positive variance of $192,255. This financial result is the second-best finish since 2013.

Spectra designed a comprehensive COVID-19 reopening plan and operating manual that focused on the safety and well-being of employees, guests, partners, and athletes. While many events rescheduled due to the pandemic, the complex management team created integrated policies and procedures – including cleaning and sanitization, personal protective equipment, and social distancing – and pursued brand new events that could operate seamlessly within this new environment.

“At Spectra, we are focused on aggressively booking the venues, providing excellent customer service, and being stewards of Nampa’s great assets,” said Spectra’s Andrew Luther, General Manager of Ford Idaho Center and Nampa Civic Center. “The financial results are truly exciting for the City of Nampa and its residents. Spectra has delivered the six best financial years in the venue’s history, and that impact is helping create a top-notch facility while saving taxpayer money. We consistently strive to be together again in a safe manner so that all can enjoy entertainment and community gatherings.”

Ford Idaho Center Year in Review

Another year of top-notch talent and events were brought to Nampa in our 2021 fiscal year. The venue was excited to host many arena events that included two rounds of Professional Bull Riders, Dierks Bentley, and the Jonas Brothers. For returning business, Nampa played host for the Boy’s and Girl’s State Basketball tournaments, as well as Idaho State Wrestling.

The Ford Idaho Horse Park and Sports Center also continued their growth streak, hosting elite horse shows and special events that included Sport Horse Nationals, Low Roller Reining Classic, and 23 other equestrian events. The Ford Idaho Sports Center kept a full schedule with multiple consumer shows.

Luther continued, “The Ford Idaho Center complex wrapped up FY21 with 102 unique events, welcoming over 405,000 people across 237 calendar days. Hosting this large number of events is a huge driver for our local economy, with event traffic bringing millions of dollars into the Treasure Valley community annually.”

Nampa Civic Center Year in Review

In FY21, the Nampa Civic Center hosted 462 events that brought over 50,000 patrons to Nampa. The venue continued to foster relationships with the Nampa Chamber of Commerce, Simplot Growers, dance competitions, Music Theatre of Idaho, and many other returning clients.

“Spectra is continuing to excel due to their excellent leadership and the dedication of their hard-working employees,“ Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling said. “They have propelled both the Ford Idaho Center and the Nampa Civic Center in a positive direction and we look forward to their continued service to our community.”

Several key capital improvement projects reached completion at each venue.  The Ford Idaho Center installed LED lighting in its Coverall Arena and horse park ancillary light poles, which lowered utility expense and gave equine competitors full competition lighting.  Additionally, 30 more horse stalls were built and installed on the property. There are now 578 horse stalls at the Ford Idaho Horse Park. The final major project was installing touchless ticket scanners for events, which helps decrease labor costs and reduce touchpoints between guests and staff. At the Nampa Civic Center, Phase 1 of the conference center airwall replacement project occurred. These airwalls dynamically divide the various rooms and allow the venue to host multiple events simultaneously, increasing revenue.

“We are looking forward to bringing more, high-quality live entertainment to both venues in FY2022,” Luther added. “Spectra’s success stems from an enthusiastic Nampa and Treasure Valley community, excellent support from our corporate team, and a staff that takes pride in their work. In the most difficult year, all rose to the occasion and overcame.”
