Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager plans, directs, and manages all aspects of financial, accounting, purchasing and internal control functions for the Ford Idaho Center and Nampa Civic Center teama by performing the following duties.

This role will pay a salary of $50,000 to $68,640.

About the Venue

This position will support the the Ford Idaho Center and Nampa Civic Center.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all general accounting functions including general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Assist in Box Office cash handling procedures and verify bank statements against daily deposits.
  • Assists with bi-weekly payroll for all salaried and hourly employees.
  • Perform account and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare event settlements and event profit and loss statements.
  • Assist with preparing monthly financial statements.
  • Assist Finance Director with budget preparation, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or better from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, public or business administration or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of Arena/Hotel/Convention Center accounting experience preferred.
  • May require working beyond normal business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays based on event calendar.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work well with all levels of management.
  • Knowledge of Sage 100  preferred, or similar accounting software.

Assistant Director of Finance

The Assistant Director of Finance assists the Director of Finance with planning and directing all aspects of financial, accounting, purchasing, and internal control functions for the venue by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinate supervisors. This position will be primarily responsible for overseeing the Nampa Civic Center responsibilities.  

This role will pay a salary of $70,000 to $85,000.

About the Venue

The Nampa Civic Center, was created through the support of private businesses, individuals and the City of Nampa, and provides space and location for performing arts events, concerts, business meetings, trade shows, weddings, and so much more. 

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and policies and procedures.
  • Assist with Monitoring compliance with all provisions of the management contract.
  • Maintains contact with Risk Management Department and Insurance broker for coordination of appropriate coverage.
  • Reviews all Nampa Civic Center contracts for client, events, subcontractors, food and beverage or concessionaires.
  • Reviews and/or prepares event settlements for Nampa Civic Center.
  • Reviews all checks and deposits, reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements.
  • Reviews Staff Accountants A/R and A/P for accuracy prior to Sage posting.
  • Assist with show settlement including payments to promoters, compile all post-show financial info to enter into GL, prepare show income/loss reports
  • Oversee payroll processing and reporting at the Nampa Civic Center and Ford Idaho Center.
  • Responsible for Bank Reconciliations for Nampa Civic Center and Ford Idaho Center to maintain proper internal controls.
  • Prepares Nampa Civic Center financial statements for the Client and Corporate, and other financial reports, and monthly statements.
  • Assists Director of Finance and General Manager with Annual Budget and Annual Report.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
  • Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
  • Analyzes financial performance and cost analyses for all departments; prepares monthly financial statements, recommends appropriate actions/changes in order to meet business goals.
  • Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
  • Coordinates preparation of Client or external audit materials and financial reporting; implements recommendations of Client as requested.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.
  • At least 5 years of experience in public accounting and/or financial management at a supervisory level.
  • Be a business partner with other departments ensuring financial success of the venue.
  • Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting.
  • Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
  • Must pass background and credit check per guidelines
  • Experience with ADP payroll, and Sage accounting preferred.
  • Industry experience is preferred.

Overview

Responsibilities

  • Reviews assigned banquet staff functions, banquet menus prior to the scheduled event.
  • Conducts pre-banquet meetings with staff to: ensure appearance and hygiene standards are being met; assign stations and partners; and review banquet event orders.
  • Communicates with the Executive Chef / Kitchen Manager or event coordinator to ensure that all details have been planned for and met. Ensures that changes and further instructions are made in a timely manner.

Under supervision of Box Office Manager, the Box Office Attendant (Part time) is responsible for ticket sales and customer service for all ticketed events at the Ford Idaho Center.

 

Responsibilities:

 

SUMMARY
Responsible for ticket sales for shows or events by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Demonstrates excellent customer service skills; responds promptly to customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance, able to work independently and handle most box office questions without assistance.

Efficiently and courteously answers questions concerning prices, seating and events. Gives information concerning coming attractions.

Opens and or closes ticket window as required.

Accurately dispenses tickets as requested by patrons; accepts payment and makes change accurately.

Maintains accurate count when selling hard tickets or accesses computer for count of computer printed tickets.

Completes daily ticket sales report. Keeps accurate daily balance sheet of cash received and tickets sold; balances sales and change bank and submits cash to Box Office supervisor or manager for audit.

Fills reservations for seats by telephone or mail, handles Will-Call window according to procedures, or other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Files various records and reports. Performs related clerical work as assigned.

Concessions Manager

The Concessions Manager is responsible for the effective management of venue concessions operations including inventory controls, product ordering, training new employees, cash controls, compliance with alcohol service polices, cleaning, safety, guest service, employee/volunteer training and supervision, warehouse oversight, troubleshooting, closing duties, event planning support, food preparation and production, and any other tasks assigned by the DFB.  The Concessions Manager must be provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth operation of the Arena & Concessions Dept. 

 

The Concessions Manager will actively supervise, coach, counsel, direct, train and mentor employees in meeting company quality standards, and will may initiate or recommend employment actions such as hiring, termination, suspension, discipline, promotion and transfer.  The CM will provide oversight and resolution responsibility for employee performance issues.  Actively and independently manage all aspects of employee relations to ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant and cooperative work environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule including evenings and weekends.  Flexible availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong technical (computer and POS) aptitude are required.  

 

This role will pay a salary of $50,000 to $55,000.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing, developing and mentoring a staff of part time and full time concessions employees, including initiating employee discipline as required. Responsible for completing documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy and practice.
  • Ensure proper set-up of all concessions locations prior to doors. Set-up duties may include: verifying opening inventory, assigning duties to concession workers (employee/volunteer), ensuring sanitation standards are met, verifying that each location is fully operational, ascertaining levels of food production based upon projected guest attendance has been met; assuring that SL or NFP Stand Leader has followed proper procedures for distribution and handling of cash.
  • Provide a high level of oversight and operational expertise resulting in the smooth, efficient and profitable execution of events.
  • Ability to oversee a large volume of inventory, order product, and manage high volume sales.
  • Manage and run all venue concessions operations before, during and after the event. Duties include staff scheduling, employee check-in, equipment inspection, POS monitoring and troubleshooting, guest complaint resolution, training, food production, clean-up, post-event reconciliation and reporting, and any other duties as assigned by the DFB.
  • Training new & current employees with regarding to property procedure & best practices.
  • Willing to cover / back-up any open position to assure location is fully operational and company standards pertaining to speed of service and guest satisfaction are met; assist with Premium Services operations and event needs, as directed.
  • Provide direction and oversight to Concessions Supervisors, Stand Managers, Concession Cooks, and Cashiers. Ensure that all State / Federal, OVG and IEC policies, procedures and practices are adhered to, including compliance with alcohol distribution / service and food handling / sanitation guidelines, general safety policies and procedures.  Report any alcohol service or other compliance issues to DFB immediately.
  • Complete post-event evaluations, data compilation, tracking of monetary and product shortages, generating reports; serves as a resource for POS applications and training.
  • Ensure work environment is safe and free from harassment or discrimination; immediately address all safety concerns, potential hazards, accidents or incidents. Relays safety/health issues to management immediately.
  • Ensure event staff and volunteers are aware of work place expectations; provide on-going assistance, training and mentoring to event staff and volunteers; promote a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative workplace environment by working side-by-side with staff and volunteers; reinforce procedures and practices through repetition; lead by example and provide on-going constructive feedback.
  • Ability to obtain working knowledge of all existing concession locations: geographical locations, equipment, evacuation procedures, adjacent employee and guest areas and facility access.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or greater in Culinary Management, Business Management, or related field; along with two or more years’ experience in Concessions Management, other Food & Beverage Management, or related experience.
  • Degree requirement may be substituted for four or more years’ experience in Concessions Supervision, Food & Beverage Management or related position.
  • Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft office, POS systems, timekeeping system.
  • Experience training new employees and volunteers
  • Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls
  • Experience ordering product for a high-volume venue or facility

Cook - Part Time

The Cook is responsible for preparing menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. The Cook must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction.  Portion control, food waste and sanitation are additional areas that the Cook must be aware of while operating in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cooking and packaging food product which is prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
  • Receives verbal orders from the front counter staff for food product requirements for guest orders.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items. Food must be fresh and of high quality when served to the guests.
  • Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products served in the concession stand.
  • Responsible for cleaning, stocking and restocking of workstations and displays.
  • Responsible for operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers and ovens.
  • Ensures that all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away and floor is swept and mopped at end of shift. The Cook must be checked out before ending the shift by the Floor Supervisor to ensure the concession stand meets cleanliness standards.
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.

Event Security

Event Security staff are responsible for ensuring that the arena is a safe and welcoming environment for all guests. Security staff will be responsible for ensuring guests enter safely, safety and security inside of the venue, limiting access to restricted areas, and de-escalating volatile situations

Food & Beverage Supervisor

Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the serving of guests in the venue dining areas catering functions.  The Food and Beverage Supervisor must be personable and able to work in an ever- changing fast-paced environment.  The Food and Beverage Supervisor will assist the Food and Beverage Managers with projects including training, inventory and special events.

 

The Food and Beverage Supervisor must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the serving of meals to guests or directing guests to the buffet line.
  • Responsible for supervising the service of beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages. Must check guest’s ID to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
  • Responsible for assisting in recording a guest’s order and relaying the order to the kitchen via P.O.S. system.
  • Responsible for observing guests to respond to any additional requests and determine when the meal has been completed.
  • Responsible for computing the cost of the meal and presenting the guest with the check. Accept payments and provide change as necessary.
  • Responsible for ensuring tableware and linens replaced as necessary.
  • Recommends certain dishes and identifies ingredients or explains how various items on the menu are prepared.
  • Supervises the set up of banquet functions including linens, dishware, glassware and silverware.
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
  • Assures that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to start of event.
  • Responsible for recognizing guests that are visibly intoxicated and taking action to cut off alcohol to such individuals
  • Enforces all Ovations policies and procedures.
  • Practices excellent Human Resources skills regarding employee relations, corrective action, coaching and counseling employees and completes all necessary HR related paperwork.

Qualifications

  • At Least 1-2 years’ experience working in a supervisory capacity in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment or applicable Education.

Guest Services Staff

A Guest Service Attendant is an on-call, per event employee who will act as primary provider of direct service to guests as they are entertained at the Ford Idaho Center.  They are responsible for providing a safe environment for our guests and ensuring all service needs are met.  Guest Service Attendants will work in positions as needed including; usher, ticket taker, suite staff and door guards.

  • Provide a safe and secure environment for the Ford Idaho Center

  • Act as a member of the emergency evacuation team by directing guests to emergency exits

Qualifications:

Operations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator supervises and directs the day-to-day operations of the facilities. The position provides leadership and direction to part-time staff about building policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the operation of all event changeovers, i.e. basketball floor, stage risers, chairs, and signs
  • Performs routine to moderate tasks maintaining livestock arena, exercise arena, stall barn, facility floors, chairs, staging, risers, and other inventory as needed.
  • Oversees housekeeping services for the facilities
  • Assign work activities, monitor work flow, identify and resolve common operational issues
  • Maintain an accurate record keeping system for hazardous materials communication program
  • Interacting with clients, serving their needs within the confines of state and local laws, and provides physical facility needs and performs custodial duties.
  • Performs moderate to difficult set-ups in livestock facilities and works around some livestock.
  • Performs operation of machinery, included fork lifts, skid steer, tractor, and pick-up trucks.
  • Review and coordinate and changeover work plan, facility maintenance and operations;

Operations Staff

The role of the Event Set-up/Laborer position is to set up and breakdown events. The job is a physical job and requires a great amount of standing and walking. Staff are also responsible for various maintenance-related tasks. Employees can get the opportunity to become trained on machinery such as the forklift, scissor lift, and pallet jacks. Employees will also be trained on electricity, staging, landscaping and a variety of other valuable job skills.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $15 to $16.00.

About the Venue

This position is based at our Ford Idaho Center complex with specific focus on the operations and event management of the Horse Park. With more than 110 acres and the ability to house 850 horses, folks come from all over the country to make the Ford Idaho Horse Park their home for their horse show.

 

The Ford Idaho Horse Park hosts a variety of events each year, including NCHA, NRCHA, NRHA and Arabian championship shows. Each July, we also team up with the Snake River Stampede Rodeo which brings cowboys and cowgirls from all over the US and Canada to compete for top PRCA prize money. It goes without saying that the Ford Idaho Horse Park couldn’t have accomplished all that we have without those local organizations that also call us home for their events each year.

Responsibilities

Reports to: Operations Manager

  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events.
  • Setting-up and tearing down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, other furnishings and equipment
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed
  • Meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and around the facility (requires personal mobility), bending, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and moderate to loud noises
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Work effectively under pressure and stringent schedule to produce accurate results

Partnerships Manager

Overview

As a member of our Ford Idaho Center team, the Manager, Partnerships will be responsible for driving new business development and maintaining client relationships to achieve department revenue goals. This position will work hand in hand with General Manager to cultivate relationships to bring value and profitability to the Ford Idaho Center.  The Partnerships Manager is responsible for generating revenue through the sale of integrated sponsorship, naming rights, premium seating, and hospitality packages throughout the venues.  We are looking for hard-working, creative individuals who have a passion for music, entertainment, and events. Suitable candidates for the role are commercially aggressive professionals who have a proven track record in the sponsorship space of delivering high value deals to regional and national brands with creative activation strategies intertwined. Strong candidates will have experience selling venue partnerships and possess the capability to work collaboratively with multiple business stakeholders.

 

This role will pay a salary of $50,000 to $60,000.

About the Venue

The Ford Idaho Center is conveniently located off I-84 in Nampa, Idaho. The campus is home to the Ford Arena that holds a capacity of 12,000, the Ford Amphitheater that can hold up to 11,000, and the Ford Idaho Horse Park and Ford Sports Center that has a capacity of 2,200, 578 equine stalls, 44 full RV hook-ups, 16 partial RV hook-ups, two covered riding arenas, and four open riding arenas. The Ford Sports Center also offers a full restaurant and meeting space that is open to the public during select events and is also available as a rental space.  Ford Idaho Center is the home for Snake River Stampede.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for growing revenue via new and existing business partnerships and through accomplishing individual and departmental sales
  • Work with General Manager to help develop and execute a strategic plan to drive revenue for the Ford Idaho Center and any new projects that are assigned to the team.

Senior Accounting Manager l Nampa Civic Center

Overview

The Senior Accounting Manager assists the Director of Finance with planning and directing all aspects of financial, accounting, purchasing, and internal control functions for the venue by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinate supervisors. This position will be primarily responsible for overseeing the Nampa Civic Center responsibilities.  

 

This role will pay a salary of $65,000 to $80,000.

About the Venue

The Nampa Civic Center, was created through the support of private businesses, individuals and the City of Nampa, and provides space and location for performing arts events, concerts, business meetings, trade shows, weddings, and so much more. 

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and policies and procedures.
  • Assist with Monitoring compliance with all provisions of the management contract.
  • Maintains contact with Risk Management Department and Insurance broker for coordination of appropriate coverage.
  • Reviews all Nampa Civic Center contracts for client, events, subcontractors, food and beverage or concessionaires.
  • Reviews and/or prepares event settlements for Nampa Civic Center.
  • Reviews all checks and deposits, reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements.
  • Reviews Staff Accountants A/R and A/P for accuracy prior to Sage posting.
  • Assist with show settlement including payments to promoters, compile all post-show financial info to enter into GL, prepare show income/loss reports
  • Oversee payroll processing and reporting at the Nampa Civic Center and Ford Idaho Center.
  • Responsible for Bank Reconciliations for Nampa Civic Center and Ford Idaho Center to maintain proper internal controls.
  • Prepares Nampa Civic Center financial statements for the Client and Corporate, and other financial reports, and monthly statements.
  • Assists Director of Finance and General Manager with Annual Budget and Annual Report.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
  • Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
  • Analyzes financial performance and cost analyses for all departments; prepares monthly financial statements, recommends appropriate actions/changes in order to meet business goals.
  • Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
  • Coordinates preparation of Client or external audit materials and financial reporting; implements recommendations of Client as requested.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.
  • At least 5 years of experience in public accounting and/or financial management at a supervisory level.
  • Be a business partner with other departments ensuring financial success of the venue.
  • Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting.
  • Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
  • Must pass background and credit check per guidelines
  • Experience with ADP payroll, and Sage accounting preferred.
  • Industry experience is preferred.

The Server will provide ultimate hospitality for guests in a fast-paced, high volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of the menu and any special items being offered.
  • Provides quick, attentive, friendly and professional service to banquet guests and is able to communicate clearly with all customers.
  • Ensures that food items are served at proper temperature and immediately upon availability from the kitchen, as ordered by the customer.

Warehouse Worker

The Warehouse Worker is responsible for assisting in venue distribution/warehouse operations including inventory, receiving, purchasing, ordering, lay-ins, purchase order tracking, clean-up, transfers and equipment maintenance. This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business.  The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which includes evenings and weekends.  Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and independent decision-making skills are required. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting with product purchasing/ordering, receiving and distribution control for the venue.
  • Maintain sanitation and organizational systems of all warehouse storage areas.
  • Fulfills all event expectations including but not limited to requisitioning during events, post-event break down, warehouse returns, equipment storage, sanitation and maintenance.
  • Oversee and ensure that appropriate stocking levels are met for each event; rotate and maintain integrity of product.
  • Ensure proper transfer process of product between locations, including follow-up documentation.
  • Assists in performing routine maintenance; responsible for concession and utility equipment cleaning and maintenance: portable equipment, burden carriers, carts, floors, refrigeration, and lighting. Ensure manifested equipment is in location.
  • Evaluate warehouse employee performance. Maintain employee records, written warnings, reviews and other related documents.
  • Conduct walk through of the commissary, warehouse and storage areas after the completion of the day to ensure all areas are clean.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to make sound business/operations decisions (i.e. regarding employee placement, staffing adjustments, and/or respond to technical, product or equipment challenges during an event) quickly and under pressure.

  • Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards, etc. pertaining to Spectra and venue concession operations.
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years foodservice / hospitality experience; similar venue experience a plus.
  • Food service certification

Physical Dimensions:
Performing the duties of this position involves extensive and continuous standing and walking.  Routine activities require the employee to be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.  The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds.  The vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision and close vision.
